Brief Work in Cinema
Jones moved to Hollywood from 1933 to 1935 to help produce the first films made in three colors by Technicolor. He used the lighting techniques he had honed in his theatre work and applied them to the film, though he was not able to exert as much creative control as he wished on all the projects he participated in. He was credited as designer for three films, Becky Sharp, The Dancing Pirate, and a short two-reeler, La Cucaracha. After only three years he moved back to New York and continued working solely in the theatre. Below is the trailer for Becky Sharp, and the link to this page is a poster for the film.
